Birthday cake

It is my birthday today (sunday that is) and for that reason, I made myself a white chocolate mud cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream and quark topping. In other words, the heart attack-cake. Seriously, you should have seen the pile of ingredients! (Well, maybe I should have taken a photo for you, but I didn't.)

This was such a delicious and moist cake. As the cake itself, however, is quite heavy with all the chocolate and sugar and butter, I wanted to balance this a little bit with light, fresh strawberry filling and some more berries on top. I didn't use any sugar for the cream+quark topping either.

One slice of the ultimate birthday cake was enough for me, I'm telling you.

For so long I've wanted to make a bunting for a cake. Finally I got to do it, even though this one is quite poor. I'm also responsible for the tablecloth on the garden table. (Fabric from IKEA)

Omien synttäreideni kunniaks leipoa pyöräytin valkosuklaakakun mansikkatäytteellä ja kermavaahdolla. Herkkua oli! Pöytäliinankin tonne pihan pöydälle ompelin.
